Egypt's Ministry of Health and Population announced on Wednesday that 3,574,335 medical services were provided to residents of Marsa Matrouh Governorate throughout 2024. These services were delivered via hospitals and primary care centres across the region. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, emphasised the ministry's dedication to sustainable development in line with Egypt's Vision 2030, according to a Cabinet statement. Ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar outlined the breadth of services, which included 2,073,332 procedures across various specialties, such as emergency care, internal medicine, surgeries, and radiology. Outpatient clinics accounted for 794,336 services, while 33,733 dialysis sessions were conducted. Additionally, 637 cases benefited from remote diagnostic services, and 6,382 state-funded medical decisions were issued. Mobile medical convoys also played a significant role, delivering 104,891 services through 111 missions targeting underserved and remote communities. The spokesperson highlighted the development of nine hospitals in the governorate, including upgrades to Matrouh Hospital, which expanded its radiology department and introduced advanced medical equipment to enhance patient care.
