The meeting reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting foreign investments and settling outstanding dues in the petroleum sector. Cremers stated that Egypt ranks 5th globally for Shell in terms of exploration activity. This, he explained, reflects the strategic importance of the Egyptian market within the company's global portfolio. He also expressed Shell's interest in continuing close cooperation with the Egyptian government, while expanding its investment plans and partnering with Gulf countries to help meet Egypt's growing gas needs. For his part, Madbouly underscored the importance of Shell's presence in Egypt, highlighting its significant contributions to the energy sector. He added that he regularly follows up on the company's investment progress with Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi, stressing the government's commitment to facilitating the company's operations. In addition, the two sides reviewed ongoing cooperation between Shell and the Egyptian government in regional natural gas initiatives, as well as coordination in exploration and efforts to ensure domestic supply. Meanwhile, Shell Egypt Chairperson Dalia El Gabry outlined the company's community engagement programmes and its implementation of modern techniques that adhere to environmental and safety standards. Madbouly also expressed optimism about Shell's future expansion in Egypt, citing the country's promising exploration potential and the government's continued efforts to foster a stable and attractive investment environment in the oil and gas sector.
