Asia-Pacific stocks were mixed on Tuesday, with Japanese stocks unaffected by political uncertainty after the ruling coalition lost its majority in the upper house in weekend elections. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index closed at 25,130.03, up 0.54 per cent, while China's CSI 300 index rose 0.82 per cent to 4,118.96. Japan's Nikkei 225 ended down 0.11 per cent at 39,774.92, and the Topix index closed flat at 2,836.19. South Korea's Kospi dropped 1.27 per cent to 3,169.94, and the Kosdaq lost 1.06 per cent to 812.97. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 edged up 0.1 per cent to 8,677.20.
