Asia-Pacific markets mostly fell on Monday following the US strike on three Iranian nuclear sites, which led to a rise in oil prices and heightened concerns among investors about a potential escalation in the Middle East conflict. Japan's Nikkei 225 closed the day 0.13 per cent lower at 38,354.09, and the Topix index fell 0.36 per cent to 2,761.18. In South Korea, the Kospi index ended the day down 0.24 per cent at 3,014.47, while the Kosdaq lost 0.85 per cent to 784.79. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 0.67 per cent to close at 23,689.13, and China's CSI 300 index added 0.29 per cent to 3,857.90. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 closed 0.36 per cent lower at 8,474.9.
