Egypt's Universal Health Insurance System (UHIS) has rendered more than 27 million medical and treatment services in Luxor and Aswan, as part of the state's push to enhance healthcare in Upper Egypt. The initiative, which aims to improve access to quality medical services and support comprehensive development, has so far registered around 2.4 million citizens in both governorates. With investments exceeding 27.5 billion Egyptian pounds, the system is operating through 171 affiliated medical facilities across the region. Luxor, the second governorate to implement the system, accounted for 24 million of the services provided. Meanwhile, Aswan, the final governorate in the first phase of the system's rollout, has recorded 3 million medical and treatment services. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S. Salama
