Egypt's Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar held a meeting to review the quality of medical services provided at Gustave Roussy Hospital (formerly Hermel), as part of the government's ongoing efforts to ensure high-standard care for citizens, the Cabinet has said in a statement. He instructed hospital management to streamline administrative and medical procedures, establish a dedicated unit for receiving complaints, and regularly monitor patient satisfaction. The minister also called for improved coordination to ensure the availability of medications and accelerate the issuance of state-funded treatment approvals, noting that 12,000 approvals were issued between 1 June and 18 July 2025. Abdel Ghaffar also directed the formation of a task force to follow up on development plans at the hospital, enhance the work environment, and submit periodic reports to maintain continuous performance improvements and swiftly address any challenges. He also called for the expansion of highly trained medical and administrative personnel and for broadening the recruitment of specialised French experts to support knowledge transfer and staff training on the latest treatment methods. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to closely monitor the hospital's performance in partnership with the private sector to ensure equal access to high-quality healthcare for all patients.
