Egypt's Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk has confirmed on the uninterrupted distribution of subsidised bread across all governorates, with bakeries operating efficiently since the system's launch at 5 a.m. Farouk stated that electronic bread dispensing machines are functioning normally, equipped with multi-network SIM cards to allow bakers to switch between service providers and ensure continuous operation. This flexibility, he noted, has helped maintain the system's stability and avoid disruptions. The minister added that the central operations room at the ministry, alongside local operations units in each governorate, is closely monitoring the system's performance. Technical support teams are on the ground to provide immediate assistance to any bakery facing temporary issues. Farouk also said he remains in close contact with Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat to coordinate efforts and ensure the stability of telecom services that underpin the digital distribution system.
