Exclusive - Amwal Al Ghad publishes the list of the brotherhood members whose assets in the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) have been recently frozen. Egypt's Central Clearing, Depository and Registry house (MCDR) froze on Monday the assets of 29 Muslim Brotherhood members including the leader and key figures as pursuant to the country's prosecutor-general, senior sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity to Amwal Al Ghad. The brotherhood members with frozen assets are; 1. Safwat Hegazi, Preacher 2. Abdel-Moneim Abdel-Maksoud, MB Lawyer 3. Dr. Mahmoud Ghozlan, MB Deputy General Guide 4. Saad El-Katatni, Head of Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) 5. Essam El Erian, FJP Deputy Chairman 6. Essam Sultan. Vice-chairman of Al-Wasat Party 7. Mohamed Mahsoub, Former Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs 8. Abou Elela Mady – Chairman of Al-Wasat Party 9. Dr. Helmy Al Gazzar – leading figure at Freedom & Justice Party (FJP) 10. Rashad Al-Bayoumi, Deputy General Guide of Muslim Brotherhood 11. Hazem Salah Abu Ismail, Salafist politician 12. Tarek El-Zomor, Leading figure at Gama'a al-Islamiya (Islamist Group) 13. Assem Abdel-Maged, Leading figure at Islamist Group 14. Mohamed al-Beltagi, FJP General Secretary 15. Mohamed El-Omda , a former MP and presenter at Misr 25 channel 16. Salah Abdel-Maksoud, Former Minister of Information The sources further noted that the MB leading figures and members do not own significant accounts in the EGX, unlike Mubarak-era figures'. The sources have ruled out that the MB General Guide Mohamed Badie would have any accounts in the EGX. In the light of the January 25th revolution, the Egyptian prosecutor-general has issued a decree freezing the assets of a number of the Hosni Mubarak's followers. Accordingly, reports have been emerged about a potential freeze of the assets owned by brotherhood leaders and figures.
