Egypt's National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) chairman Tarek El-Houby met on Sunday with Japanese Ambassador to Cairo IWAI Fumio to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in food safety, inspection, and regulatory systems, a statement said. The meeting aimed to enhance technical cooperation with Japanese entities, especially the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), through joint training programmes, expert exchanges, and knowledge transfer. El-Houby emphasised the importance of this partnership in enhancing the authority's technical and laboratory capabilities, aligning with Egypt's Vision 2030 goals for safe and sustainable food for all citizens. Ambassador Fumio expressed appreciation for NFSA's role in modernising Egypt's food safety framework and confirmed Japan's readiness to provide technical and capacity-building support in this vital sector.
