Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty praised the mutual interest between Egypt and Slovakia in developing bilateral relations, highlighting opportunities to enhance cooperation in priority areas for both countries. During a phone call from Slovak Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Juraj Blanár, the two ministers discussed ways to strengthen ties and exchanged views on regional issues of shared concern. They focused particularly on the situation in the Gaza Strip and Egypt's ongoing efforts to resume the ceasefire and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the enclave. The conversation also addressed growing regional tensions amid the military escalation between Israel and Iran. Abdel-Aty warned of the serious risks of dragging the Middle East into chaos, stressing the need to de-escalate, halt hostilities, and contain the crisis through political and diplomatic channels. Blanár expressed his appreciation for Egyptian-Slovak relations and voiced hope for expanding cooperation across various fields. He also thanked Egypt for facilitating the evacuation of Slovak nationals from Israel to Egypt and their safe return home during the recent surge in violence.
