Egypt's Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA) affirmed that the current situation in the country is completely safe, with no indicators suggesting any potential radiological impacts. The authority added that it operates 24-hour monitoring systems to ensure the safety and security of citizens. ENRRA noted its continued coordination with national bodies, including the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) and the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG), with whom it signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in 2022 to enhance cooperation in the field. The committee also discussed the importance of launching a public awareness campaign to clarify accurate concepts regarding nuclear and radiological activities and counter misinformation. Key recommendations included continued close monitoring of detection and early warning networks, cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, and strengthening communication with the public to combat rumours and raise awareness of nuclear and radiological safety. The Authority reiterated its full commitment to protecting public health and safety and pledged to provide accurate and transparent information to build trust and credibility.
