Egypt's Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly affirmed the government's commitment to securing sufficient drinking water supplies, highlighting the country's shift towards water desalination projects across coastal cities, a Cabinet statement said. During a meeting with ministers and officials from the military and water sectors, Madbouly emphasised Egypt's efforts to develop modern desalination technologies locally through private sector partnerships, including the use of renewable energy to lower production costs. The meeting reviewed the progress of ongoing drinking water projects, including those under the presidential Decent Life initiative in rural areas. These efforts aim to improve access to clean water and wastewater services and raise the quality of infrastructure to ensure long-term sustainability. The session also addressed irrigation needs, with officials from the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation confirming that required water quantities would be provided on time and following the scheduled distribution cycles.
