Trade turnover between Russia and China declined by 8.2 per cent year-on-year to $88.8 billion in the first five months of 2025, according to data released by China's General Administration of Customs. Chinese exports to Russia dropped by 6.6 per cent to $38.89 billion during the period, while Russian shipments to China decreased by 9.5 per cent to $49.91 billion. In May alone, bilateral trade amounted to $17.7 billion, down 0.6 per cent from April. China exported $8.1 billion worth of goods to Russia last month, while imports from Russia totalled $9.6 billion. Trade between the two countries had grown by 26.3 per cent in 2023 to reach $240 billion, and climbed to a record $244 billion in 2024. Attribution: TASS Subediting: M. S. Salama
