The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed mostly higher on Sunday, with gains in small- and mid-cap stocks offsetting a dip in the benchmark index. The EGX30 index slipped 0.60 per cent to end at 32,500.03 points, while the EGX33 Shariah-compliant index rose 0.78 per cent to 3,360.24 points. The EGX70 index, which tracks small and mid-sized enterprises, added 0.61 per cent to 9,564.81 points. The broader EGX100 advanced 0.48 per cent to close at 13,012.44 points. Total market capitalisation reached 2.29 trillion Egyptian pounds. Arab and non-Arab foreign investors were net buyers, with net purchases of 4.5 million pounds and 19.2 million pounds, respectively. Egyptian investors were net sellers, offloading 23.7 million pounds worth of shares. Top gainers 1. Shares of Upper Egypt Flour Mills soared by 15.96 per cent, to close at the price of 458.100 Egyptian pounds a share. 2. Shares of The Arab Ceramic CO.- Ceramica Remas climbed by 12.61 per cent, to trade at the price of 1.250 Egyptian pounds a share. 3. Shares of Sabaa International Company for Pharmaceutical and Chemical jumped by 9.85 per cent, to the purchasing price of 1.450 Egyptian pounds a share. Top losers 1. Shares of Cairo Poultry dived by 8.50 per cent, to close at 21.850 Egyptian pounds a share. 2. Shares of October Pharma sank by 5.79 per cent, to close at 116.360 Egyptian pounds a share. 3.
