EGP appreciates vs US dollar for 8th straight day

The Egyptian pound (EGP) edged up against the US dollar (USD) on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, according to data from the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE). The Egyptian currency started its upwards trend on May 11, 2025 recording EGP50.5567 and EGP50.6558 per dollar for buying and selling, respectively.
The CBE reported an average buying rate of EGP49.8478 per dollar and a selling rate of EGP49.9478, compared to Monday's rates of EGP49.999 and EGP50.099 per dollar, for buying and selling respectively.
