Egypt's annual core consumer price index (CPI) recorded 10.4 per cent in April 20525, up from 9.4 per cent in March 2025, according to data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) on Sunday. On a monthly basis, CPI inflation rose to 1.2 per cent in April 2025, compared to 0.9 per cent in March 2025 and 0.3 per cent in April 2024. The acceleration may complicate the central bank's policy outlook as it seeks to balance inflation control with growth amid ongoing structural adjustments. The CBE is expected to release its full inflation bulletin on May 15. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
