Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) Chairman Ali El-Ghamrawy met with a delegation from state-owned vaccine company VACSERA to discuss technical and regulatory issues related to the company's product submissions, a Cabinet statement said. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation, with the authority committed to providing technical support for products to meet local and international standards. This will boost local vaccine production and access new export markets. The meeting also addressed recent challenges faced by VACSERA and explored potential mechanisms to overcome them, in line with regulatory frameworks and without compromising product safety and security. In his remarks, El-Ghamrawy reiterated EDA's support for companies and its commitment to creating a regulatory environment that promotes quality, safety, efficiency, and transparency in Egypt's pharmaceutical industry. He further emphasised the authority's support for the localisation of pharmaceutical manufacturing to enhance the domestic market and guarantee access to high-quality, cost-effective medications for patients. El-Ghamrawy emphasised the need to work with local pharmaceutical companies to enhance the localisation process. He also highlighted the Egyptian government's support in registering innovative medicines and addressing challenges for local pharmaceutical manufacturing.
