The Egyptian Drug Authority's (EDA) Chairman Ali El-Ghamrawy met with a Bayer delegation to discuss collaboration in the Presidential Initiative for the Development of the Egyptian Family and local pharmaceutical manufacturing and investment. El-Ghamrawy emphasised the vital role of industry partners in supporting initiatives focused on family health, women's and children's well-being, and improving reproductive health for Egyptian families, as per a Cabinet statement. He also highlighted the importance of controlling population growth, which in turn contributes to accelerated development and improved quality of life for Egyptian citizens, the statement added. El-Ghamrawy highlighted the collaboration between industry partners and the Egyptian government in making family planning methods more accessible nationwide. They have also played a key role in supporting national campaigns to enhance the well-being of Egyptian families over the years. The meeting addressed opportunities to bolster local pharmaceutical manufacturing in Egypt. Bayer delegation stated that the firm is keen on expanding local production in collaboration with the EDA to support the country's efforts to enhance self-sufficiency and strengthen pharmaceutical supply chains. They said that the company seeks to transfer its expertise to Egyptian partners and introduce the latest pharmaceutical innovations to the Egyptian market, ensuring improved patient outcomes and the provision of effective and reliable treatment solutions. They also expressed their commitment to collaborating with the EDA, healthcare providers, and other government bodies to enhance family planning services in Egypt, aiming to improve the well-being of Egyptian families.
