Egypt's Minister of Public Business Sector Mohamed Shimi met with the head of Egypt Healthcare Authority (EHA) and supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project Ahmed El Sobky to discuss expanding cooperation in key shared areas, according to a Cabinet statement. The talks covered ways to improve healthcare services provided to workers in companies affiliated with the ministry through integration with the healthcare authority's system, aiming to boost service quality across company-run medical facilities. Discussions also included supplying the authority with pharmaceutical products, medical supplies, and disinfectants produced by companies under the Holding Company for Pharmaceuticals and the Chemical Industries Holding Company. This is expected to help meet the needs of the universal health insurance system using high-quality local products. The two sides also explored collaboration with the Holding Company for Cotton and Textiles (CTIHC) to provide uniforms for medical staff and textile needs for healthcare facilities, in addition to the potential role of the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels in supporting medical tourism initiatives. There was also consideration of involving the ministry's contracting companies in construction and development projects carried out by the EHA as part of its expansion and modernisation plans. The meeting concluded with an agreement to form joint working groups to develop a practical implementation mechanism for the proposed cooperation areas and a timeline for follow-up, aiming to deliver tangible results for citizens, employees, and the national economy.
