Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib inaugurated on Sunday the Egypt-Morocco Investment and Trade Forum in Cairo. El-Khatib welcomed Moroccan Minister of Foreign Trade Omar Hejira and his delegation, expressing hope the visit would open new channels of cooperation. He emphasised the forum's role in building lasting communication between the two nations and addressing the trade imbalance, especially in Moroccan exports to Egypt. He highlighted the importance of leveraging existing trade agreements—such as the Agadir Agreement and AfCFTA—to expand market access and foster joint projects. El-Khatib also noted Egypt's efforts to ease customs procedures and improve the business environment to attract Moroccan investment. He urged business leaders to coordinate on proposals that could drive industrial, trade, and investment cooperation, especially in light of geopolitical and economic challenges. The forum reflects both countries' commitment to sustainable development and enhanced regional economic integration. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
