Egypt's Minister of Investment Hassan El-Khatib met on Tuesday with Mohammad Al-Tuwaijri, Secretary General of the Egypt-Saudi Coordination Council, as the two nations look to strengthen economic integration and unlock new opportunities for cross-border investment. During the Cairo meeting, Minister El-Khatib outlined recent reforms aimed at improving Egypt's investment climate, including steps to accelerate customs clearance and facilitate trade. He said the government's policy shift is creating more room for private sector growth and foreign capital inflows, , a ministry statement read. The minister also emphasised the potential for deeper integration between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, highlighting Egypt's young, 32 million-strong labour force as a key asset for joint projects. He praised the Coordination Council—launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman—as a key mechanism for advancing cooperation in strategic sectors such as tourism and infrastructure. Al-Tuwaijri said the two countries should expand cooperation in outsourcing, infrastructure development, and talent exchange to spur job creation and enhance economic competitiveness. He called for leveraging successful case studies to strengthen regional growth models. Both sides agreed to continue institutional coordination to scale up economic cooperation and jointly develop high-impact projects aligned with long-term national strategies.
