Egypt's Housing Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny was named among the top 10 real estate policymakers shaping the real estate landscape in their countries, the Cabinet said Wednesday, citing Forbes Middle East's latest list. "Governments play a key role in the real estate sector by defining policies that support and regulate the industry, while safeguarding consumers. These 10 officials are driving the sector's future in their countries." said Forbes in its Top 10 Public Sector Real Estate Leaders in the Middle East list. Appointed in July 2024, Minister El-Sherbiny has overseen several initiatives aimed at expanding access to housing and attracting foreign investment. In February 2025, the ministry launched the Your Home in Egypt Initiative, offering over 5,000 residential units in new cities to Egyptians living abroad. In March, the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), affiliated with the ministry, also signed a memorandum of understanding in March with the Future of Egypt Authority to establish Modon, a company tasked with managing and operating urban infrastructure and real estate developments. The Cabinet said Minister El-Sherbiny's inclusion in the Forbes list reflects the government's broader vision to support the real estate sector, empower developers and investors, and offer integrated housing solutions that meet the needs of diverse segments of the population.
