China's Deli Group plans $200m industrial hub in Egypt

Egypt's Minister of Industry and Transport, Kamel El-Wazir, met with representatives of China's Deli Group to discuss establishing an industrial complex for office and school supplies, as well as sports equipment, in 10th of Ramadan City, according to a Cabinet statement on Wednesday.
Deli Group plans to set up a large industrial complex in the city's industrial zone, spanning 160,000 square metres, with an investment of around $200 million. The project is expected to create 2,200 new jobs, the statement added.
El-Wazir highlighted Egypt's commitment to collaborating with foreign companies in the industrial sector. He affirmed that the Ministry of Industry is dedicated to supporting Deli Group in swiftly launching its project to meet both local and export demands.
This includes streamlining land allocation and industrial licensing processes to accelerate the start of production. All necessary industrial facilities, including company-owned land, will be completed in parallel with the construction of the industrial complex.
During the meeting, an initial timeline was set for the company to acquire and design the industrial land, as well as complete construction. The minister stressed the importance of adhering to this timeline to ensure production begins as scheduled.
El-Wazir also noted that the industrial zone in 10th of Ramadan City is one of Egypt's most significant industrial hubs due to its strategic location, with access to several major roads, including the Geneva Road, which connects Cairo to Suez.
