Egypt has exported approximately 260,000 tons of food products during the period from March 1-7, according to a report from the National Food Safety Authority (NAFSA) on Sunday. The report, which covered shipments from 1,640 exporting companies, stated that Egypt exported 5,220 consignments of 610 different products, including vegetables, fruits, flour, and other food items. Potatoes remained Egypt's top vegetable export, reaching 50,000 tons, followed by frozen mixed vegetables totalling 10,000 tons and beans at 6,000 tons. In total, 70 vegetable varieties were exported, amounting to 86,000 tons. Citrus fruits continued to dominate fruit exports, totalling 64,000 tons, followed by strawberries at 11,000 tons and a variety of other fruits at 5000 tons. Overall, 30 varieties of fruits were exported, adding up to 80,000 tons. Sudan, Somalia, Lebanon, and Russia were among the largest importers of Egyptian food products last week, out of a total of 184 importing countries, as per the statement.
