Egypt's food exports reached approximately 197,000 tons during the week of January 11-17, according to the National Food Safety Authority's latest report. The shipments included 660 varieties of vegetables, fruits, flour, and other food products. Egypt's vegetable export portfolio boasted 63 different varieties, with a total volume of around 46,000 tons. Mixed frozen vegetables emerged on the top with 9,000 tons followed by beans with a total of 8,000 tons and sweet potato at 6 tons. Last week, citrus fruits were the most exported fruit with 58,000 tons, followed by strawberries at 7,000 tons, and dates at 3,000 tons. The report showed that around 74,000 tons of 36 fruit varieties were exported. Egyptian food exports cater to a vast international audience. During the week of January 11-17, shipments reached 169 countries. The Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Russia, and Libya emerged as the top destinations for this bounty of Egyptian produce.
