Egypt among top 5 solo travel destinations for 2025: Kensington
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 09 - 03 - 2025

Egypt has been named the fourth top solo travel destination for 2025, according to the 2025 Travel Trends Report released by Kensington, a luxury private guided travel service.
The report, which draws insights from Kensington's 2024 data and surveys conducted with affluent travellers, highlights Egypt's rich cultural heritage and appeal to solo adventurers seeking unique and personal experiences.
Kensington Tours' top 10 solo travel destinations for 2025 are:
1. India
2. Italy
3. Japan
4. Egypt
5. Thailand
6. Australia
7. Spain
8. Iceland
9. France
10. New Zealand
This recognition makes Egypt the only Arab country to feature in the top 10 list, according to a statement by the Egyptian Cabinet on Sunday.
A Comeback for Solo Travel
The Kensington report notes a significant rebound in solo travel interest following the pandemic, with nearly 76 per cent of affluent travellers expressing openness to international solo trips in the next three years. Egypt's ranking reflects a growing desire among solo travelers to explore destinations with profound historical and cultural significance. Alongside Egypt, the top five destinations include India, Italy, Japan, and Thailand.
Why Egypt Stands Out
Kensington attributes Egypt's popularity to its blend of ancient wonders and the ability to offer personalised travel experiences with local private guides. From cruising the Nile to exploring the temples of Luxor and the pyramids of Giza, solo travelers are seeking in-depth and tailored experiences that go beyond traditional tourist paths.
A Shift in Travel Preferences
The report also highlights a broader trend of travellers seeking less crowded and more authentic destinations. This aligns with the preferences of solo travellers who prioritise unique and immersive experiences. The growing interest in Egypt suggests that the country is successfully positioning itself as a top choice for those looking to travel independently while delving deep into the region's history and culture.
