Egypt's Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) and the Agricultural Research Centre signed a cooperation protocol on Wednesday, covering multiple sectors, according to a Cabinet statement. Mokhtar Abdel Latif, AOI chairman, stated that the protocol focuses on key areas, including medicinal and aromatic plants, perfume manufacturing, agricultural waste recycling, mechanised farming, and food production. He also affirmed AOI's commitment to boosting local manufacturing, reducing imports, and producing high-quality, competitively priced national products, according to the statement. Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture, fully supports expanding and localising Egypt's perfume industry in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to reduce imports and preserve foreign currency reserves. Farouk directed the ministry's officials to remove any barriers to the partnership with AOI and urged for the prompt execution of the recently signed cooperation protocol, the statement added.
