In camera... Morsi Mourns Cairo's Jewish Community Leader
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 17 - 04 - 2013

In complete secrecy, the Egyptian President, Mohamed Morsi, mourned Carmen Weinstein, the leader of Cairo's small Jewish community, by a statement issued only in English language.
The "New York Times", the US-based newspaper, had the scoop to reveal this new blunder of the Egyptian presidency in its statement about mourning "Carmen Weinstein". The newspaper has spelled out that President Mohamed Morsi released a solely English-language statement to mourn the leader of Cairo's small Jewish Community, saying she was a dedicated Egyptian who kept the Egyptian Jewish heritage.
It is noteworthy that the state relations between the Muslim Brotherhood and Israel caused harsh criticisms and anger in the aftermath of Morsi's letter to the Israeli President, Shimon Peres. Then, these criticisms turned to accusations to the Muslim Brotherhood of allying the Zionism, especially after Dr Essam El Errian called for the return of the Jews to Egypt, which was described be Egyptians as treason.
Here is the obituary's text as it came in New York Times:
"President Mohamed Morsi, of the Muslim Brotherhood, issued a statement mourning the loss of Ms. Weinstein. “She was a dedicated Egyptian who worked tirelessly to preserve Egyptian Jewish heritage and valued, above all else, living and dying in her country, Egypt," he said."
On his part, Dr Naguib Gabrail, Chairman of the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights, has condemned that Dr Mohamed Morsi's mourning of the leader of Cairo's Jewish Community, according to New York Times, while he didn't mourn the victims of Al Khousous incidents and the Cathedral as well.
