Eng. Atef Helmy, Egypt's Information and Communication Technology Minister, has traveled to New York, heading a delegation in a week-long tour, during which he will visit Silicon Valley in San Francisco state. Helmy will meet with a number of officials of ICT firms in order to confirm the stability of the Egyptian ICT market ,its ability to comprise more investments in this current phase, to reassure the U.S. firms about the future of their investments, to discuss the expansion of their business in Egypt , and to activate the Egyptian-American partnerships specially in ICT field as well as to encourage them to start their activity outside Cairo governorate. The minister will meet with a group of executive leaders of multinational US firms and the giant in ICT field ,the internet and its applications. He also will pay a visits to corporate headquarters and the most important activities such as Microsoft, Intel, Oracle, Google, Apple, Facebook, Yahoo, and General Electric, Cisco, and Symantec, and United Air working in data hosting services and offer cloud computing services. Furthermore, the Minister will meet the Egyptians expatriates working in ICT sector in the west coast of the United States, to discuss opportunities for cooperation between this promising sector in Egypt and the Universal Union of Egyptian Expatriates.
