Egypt's Minister of Trade and Industry, Engr. Ahmed Samir, on Wednesday met with a delegation from BSH International Company, which owns the "Bosch" brand for home appliances, to discuss the company's current and future plans for investment and expansion in the Egyptian market, according to a Cabinet statement on Wednesday.
BSH Home Appliances, Europe's top home appliances manufacturer, is currently building its first gas stove factory in Egypt, the first of its kind on the African continent.
The factory, located in the 10th of Ramadan City, will span over 160,000 square metres, with investments exceeding 50 million euros, will create 500 new job opportunities, the report added.
The production is set to begin in the fourth quarter of this year at a capacity of 350,000 units annually. The factory will serve both local and foreign markets, taking advantage of free trade agreements with various countries and economic blocs.
Egypt's Ministry of Trade and Industry is committed to supporting the company's expansion in Egypt and addressing any challenges it may encounter, the minister affirmed.
The company aims to localise its imports in Egypt and produce high-quality, energy-efficient products, the report revealed.
The regional director of BSH Home Appliances, owner of the Bosch brand, emphasised the company's commitment to investing and expanding in Egypt, citing the country's skilled workforce and market potential.
