Cairo University has kept its place as one of the best 500 universities around the world in a Chinese ranking of year 2020. This is according to a report published by Shanghai University on August 15, which includes the ranking of the best 1,000 universities among 30,000 others worldwide. Cairo University is the only Egyptian university that exists at the international level among the top 500 universities globally, said president of Cairo University Mohamed Osman Elkhosht. Alexandria University was ranked in the 701-800 category, followed by Ain Shams and Mansoura universities that were placed in the 801-900 category. Meanwhile, Zagazig University was ranked in the 900-1,000 category.
