Dubai announced on Wednesday a decision to resume the work of employees in government offices by 50 percent starting Sunday, May 31, and to 100 percent on June 14.
The announcement was made through a tweet by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council.
It was made under the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minster of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and in the framework of the gradual restoration of normal life under intensive preventive measures, Sheikh Hamdan said.
Precautionary measures will continue to be strictly effective in government offices.
Sheikh Hamdan stressed that all government entities in Dubai must be fully committed to enforcing precautionary measures to protect the wellbeing of their employees and customers against coronavirus.
.@HamdanMohammed: Under the directives of @HHShkMohd, we approved a decision that allows 50% of #Dubai government employees to resume work at offices from Sun, May 31, and 100% from June 14, as we continue our gradual return to normal life with intensified precautionary measures.

Dubai allows some employees to work remotely
Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, explained that the decision still allows some employees to continue working remotely from home. These include the elderly, employees with underlying health and chronic conditions, people of determination, pregnant women, and those with compromised immunity, Al Falasi added.
The Dubai Government Human Resources Department is set to issue a circular at a later date to all Dubai government entities outlining details of the measures related to resumption of full operations.
