Art Dubai 2012 open

CAIRO: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai opened the sixth edition of Art Dubai 2012 held under patronage of Vice- President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The event, which will run till March 25, will bring together leading artists, curators and collectors, and over 70 museum groups, 75 galleries from 32 countries featuring paintings, sculptures, installations and video by more than 500 artists.
Flanked by Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, the Dubai Crown Prince toured the exhibition, where he was briefed about over 70 museum sets being showcased by different exhibitors worldwide.
Sheikh Hamdan expressed his pleasure about the works of Emirati, Arab and foreign artists who converged in Dubai to feature and promote their art skills, adding that the UAE sponsors all the media works and hosts such art gatherings.
