Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi gave directives to the government to provide all the needs and medical supplies required by the coronavirus quarantine hospitals in Egypt, Ahram Online reported on Tuesday. According to the presidency, Sisi held a meeting with a number of quarantine hospital managers, including those of Agouza hospital, 15 May hospital and Abu Khalifa hospital. The meeting was attended by Health Minister Hala Zayed, Higher Education Minister Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar and Presidential Adviser for Health Affairs Dr. Awad Tag El-Din. Sisi expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the medical staff and teams in those hospitals who are fighting the pandemic. He also gave directives to increase the awareness campaigns in order to correct misconceptions among some citizens concerning coronavirus that make them avoid medical tests or medical care for fear of public shaming. Egypt has recorded 5,042 cases of the virus so far, including 395 deaths and 1,304 fully recovered patients.
