Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 23 - 10 - 2012

All banks in Egypt have taken the required precautionary procedures to reduce the expected overcrowding on ATMs on the days of Eid El-Adha holiday.
Managers of some banks said they will supply the ATMs with funds on a daily basis so as to meet the customers' requirements during the holiday, in addition to taking all security measures to thwart theft attempts.
The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) ordered its employees to facilitate the banking transactions amid overcrowdings before Eid El-Adha, said Ayman Toulan, head of branches at NBE.
From EGP 250,000 to EGP 350,000 will be injected to ATMs on a daily basis, he added, noting that some of the ATMs may be injected with funds twice a day.
Toulan ascertains the importance of fostering security measures on holidays, noting that security officers will be present inside and outside the bank.
Misr Iran Development Bank has become ready to face the expected overcrowding on its 14 branches, said Amr Tantawy, head of retail banking sector at the bank.
Tantawy added that the bank will step up security measures during the holiday so as to face any theft or vandalism attempts. He added that the bank will provide ATMs with more funds than usual, but he declined to say the value of such funds.
Ahli United Bank has carried out periodic maintenance of ATMs and provided them with the required funds so as to facilitate the withdrawal transactions, said Ashraf Shebib, head of retail banking sector at the bank.
