The number bombing victims' coffins reached 21 in addition to three separate coffins for human body parts, said a church source on Sunday. A funeral of the church bombing victims took place late on Saturday at Mar Mina Monastery, 65 kilometers west of Alexandria. Victims were buried in a mass grave at the monastery. Coffins were transferred by cars from the Essaaf morgue at Kom al-Dekka under high security. Kameel Seddiq, a member of the evangelical confessional council, said “the decision to hold the funeral mass on Saturday in Mar Mina was made to avoid anger among Copts as worshippers attend the Sunday mass.” Seddiq assured that Copts are deeply grieved. He expressed hope that people would contain their feelings so as to stem the proliferation of violence. A number of priests, including bishop You'anes, representing Pope Shenouda III, the Egyptian Coptic leader, as well as Mufid Shehab, minister of state for parliamentary councils and legal affairs, representing President Mubarak and several governmental officials, attended the funeral mass.
