Abdel Gelil Mustafa, newly-appointed coordinator of the National Association for Change (NAC), lashed out at Egyptian opposition parties this week for their decision to participate in parliamentary elections slated for November. “They will only be disappointed,” he said, noting that the NAC--established by independent presidential hopeful Mohamed ElBaradei--would "continue to call for a boycott of a rigged election." For his part, Muslim Brotherhood MP and NAC member Mohamed al-Beltagi said the association planned hold more meetings with opposition groups aimed at forging a unified stance against an anticipated presidential bid by Gamal Mubarak, son of President Hosni Mubarak. “We will mobilize the public against the corruption of the ruling National Democratic Party,” he said, pointing to several rallies recently organized by the NAC in governorates throughout Egypt.
