The Council of Ministers approved the draft decision of the President to establish the Egyptian-Japanese University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), which will be built in Borg El-Arab City on 200 acres. The university will temporarily start in the Mubarak City for Scientific Research and Technological Applications.

Minister of International Cooperation Fayza Aboul Naga in a press statement yesterday announced that the Council of Ministers has last week approved eight agreements signed by the Ministry of International Cooperation on behalf of the Egyptian government with Egypt's development partners worth US$ 1.386 billion.
The statement said that the Egyptian-Japanese University promotes the Japanese model of education that is based on innovative scientific research, noting that it will be a center of excellence on the Egyptian, regional, Arab and African levels, as it will enroll students from all these regions.

The statement said that the Council approved five loans signed by the Ministry of International Cooperation with Egypt's development partners, including an agreement to implement the second phase of the grain storage silos for US$ 10 million from the OPEC Development Fund. The other four agreements finance the Ain Sokhna power station with US$ 1.25 billion, and the completion of the Abu Keir power station with US$ 102 million.
The Council also approved two grants from the United States equivalent to US$ 34.35 million to support the administrative courts, the family courts, the criminal courts, the decentralization initiative, the human rights, the civil society and the development of modern systems of civil and commercial courts, as well as the training of the judiciary and court personnel in order to expedite proceedings.
