THE Ministry of Higher Education has donated 30 computer sets to post-graduate students attending the Alexandria-base Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) in a bid to support their on-going research activities.
Minister Hani Hillal made the statement during his meeting with the E-JUST teaching staff and students, who would be allowed to use the Ministry's rich e library for free.
"The Ministry's on-line-library contains thousands of 22,000 periodicals, which the E-JUSTpost-graduate students can use for free," Hillal said.
He also told the students that the Ministry was ready to add any scientific magazine or journal to its on-line-library if the E-JUSTpost-graduate students needed it for their research Hillal has said that the Government gives its full support to the E-JUSTand will take whatever action that it may deem necessary to help the nascent university flourish and grow.
"With this support, the Government wishes the E-JUSTto give a shining example of Egyptian-Japanese economic and industrial partnership. It also wants this university to embody the fruitful Egyptian-Japanese co operation that aims at bolstering the process of manpower development here and in the Middle East as a whole," Hillal said.
At the end of his tour and meeting with the E JUSTstudents and teaching staff members, Hillal signed a studentexchange protocol between his ministry and the Japanese Government.
The protocol allows Egyptian students to go on study tours to Japanese universities, where they can be familiarised with the latest studies and advanced techniques, which will improve their skills and work expertise.
Meanwhile, E-JUSTProvost Ahmed Khairy said that the university had drawn up a clear-cut plan for the postgraduate programmes, which are being conducted under the supervision of first-rate
Egyptian and Japanese professors.
Khairy said that a specific time schedule had been designed for each research programme of study depending on its nature.
In addition, he said, the E-JUSTwas seeking to sign student exchange and study tour programmes with dozens of universities overseas as well as in the region.
