Al-Bawaba News issues a statement following IS threats
Published in Albawaba on 22 - 08 - 2017

Cairo - IS terrorist group launched intensive campaign of threats against "Al-Bawaba News" and all of its journalists and researchers, including Editor-in-Chief Abdel-Rehim Ali.
IS threats and its bloody language was not a surprise for us, as their threats come in response to the major role "Al-Bawaba News" plays to expose the terrorist ideas and plans adopted by the terrorist groups, including Muslim Brotherhood, that pose serious threat against our country, region and the world as whole.
We do not need to stress with certainty that this terrorist campaign against our newspaper will only increase our determination to move forward in fulfilling our role and our professional and national responsibility. We are committed to expose their ideas and plans with our pens and ideas through our printed newspaper and news websites in addition to research centers.
As we appreciate to the governmental and civil institutions inside and outside Egypt that expressed their solidarity with our institution, we, in response to the threats launched by IS, established Middle East Research Center to confront their agents and plans against Europe.
In the same context, "Al-Bawaba News" submitted a complaint to Egypt's Attorney General Nabil Sadik and notified Egypt's police and Press Syndicate to take the necessary measures to protect the institution and its journalists, as the institution was attacked before after receiving similar threats. Also Editor-in-Chief Abdel Rehim Ali was targeted before by terrorists.
Finally, we send our message to our great Egyptian people, to all the Arab and Islamic peoples, to all the peoples of the world who suffered from terrorism. We say that we will resume our way to expose the ideas of terrorist groups. We will not abandon our goal. We call on human rights organizations and other governmental and non-governmental organizations to unify themselves against the attempts to terrorize journalists and authors
