Cairo – Al-Azhar has condemned a terrorist attack that targeted a patrol vehicle in the Saudi governorate of Al-Qatif on Sunday, leaving a policeman dead and two others injured. In a statement on Tuesday, Al-Azhar said such terrorist attacks have nothing to do with Islam. It further urged more international efforts to face such terrorist acts. Al-Azhar also offered condolences to the victims' families and wished the injured a speedy recovery. Earlier, the Saudi Interior Ministry announced that the incident took place in the Masoura district on Sunday evening while the officers were on duty. The officer who lost his life was identified as Major Tariq bin Abdul Lateef al-Allaqi. The other two officers are in stable condition, the ministry said.
