Cairo - Mohamed Al Sagheer Abdel Reheim Mohamed is one of the Islamist figures blacklisted by the statement issued by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Emirates and Bahrain. He is an Egyptian citizen and served as adviser of Egypt's minister of endowment during the rule of the Muslim Brotherhood. He is known to have issued a large number of extreme and baseless fatwas. For example, he issued a fatwa stating a woman may seek divorce if her husband expresses support for Egypt's current ruling government, which he describes as illegal. He also said it is alright to cut off ties of kinship if they are supporters of the June 30 Revolution. He received many judicial verdicts in absentia accusing him of inciting violence against the government and individuals of police and army. He is considered one of the leading members of Jamma Islamiyya and currently travels between Turkey and Qatar. He had supported the use of violence against the Egyptian state and its national institutions. Egypt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain have collectively designated 69 individuals and 12 institutions that have financed terrorist organizations and received support from Qatar in the past. In a joint statement, the four countries have updated the list with specific names and to stress their commitment to fighting terrorism. The list was drawn up by the four countries in their fight against terrorism and those who fund it. The main target is to combat against extremist ideology and means of promoting it. The four nations wish to combine their strengths and eliminate this phenomena of terrorism and to shield societies from it, the statement added.
