Beijing - Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday extended condolences to Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi over the terrorist attack that targeted Copts in Minya on Friday, leaving scores of people dead and injured. In a cable of condolences to El-Sisi, Xi sympathized with the families of the victims, a statement by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. He stressed that China rejects all forms of terrorism and denounces all terrorist acts. The Chinese president expressed support for Egypt's anti-terror efforts. Meanwhile, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang condoled with his Egyptian counterpart Sherif Ismail over the attack. Li asserted his country's continued support for Egypt's efforts to maintain stability. The Chinese foreign minister, on his part, sent a message of condolence to his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry.
