Cairo – On Tuesday, the Central Cairo Prosecution Authority renewed its request to the court of law enforcement to swiftly arrest Habib Al Adly, the former Minister of Interior to implement the 7 year prison sentence on Adly was who charged with stealing the ministry's funds. The prosecution had received an official copy of the sentence issued by the prison on Adly who did not attend the hearing on Tuesday to stop the execution of the sentence which was rejected. Adly is reported to have fled the country. The Cairo criminal court had sentenced the former Minister of Interior along with 2 others to a 7 year prison sentence as well as sentencing the rest of the accused to a 3 year prison sentence in the case known as ‘The theft of the Ministry of Interior's funds'. The investigating magistrate had referred Al Adly and 12 Interior Ministry officials to the criminal prosecution, accusing them of stealing about 388 million and 590 thousand and 599 pounds since Al Adly took over the position of Minister of Interior.
