General Committee of House of Representatives has approved a three-month state of emergency across the nation that was declared by President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on Sunday, sources told Albwaba News. Parliamentarians, who were summoned to discuss the government's statement, unanimously voted for the bill. President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi issued a presidential decree that declared a three-month state of emergency across the nation, following two terrorist attacks against two Egyptian churches in Tanta and Alexandria on Palm Sunday. Despite the decree took effect yesterday at 13:00, the parliament should give approval to president's decision to continue the state of emergency within seven days of declaring. Two thirds of the parliament deputies should agree on the decree, in order to be take effect, according to Egyptian constitution.
