Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner will face a dilemma under the conflict of interest laws, according to the latest financial disclosure report on Kushner's financial affairs, US media reported Sunday. Friday's report shows that the couple still benefits financially from a real estate and investment empire worth $740 million, putting the couple in grave danger when it comes to laws dealing with conflict of interest, according to experts. The couple is seen standing on a fragile legal ground, as experts pointed out to the fact that US President Donald Trump is unlikely to face an obstacle in dealing with conflict of interest laws. Trump is exempted from such laws, while his daughter and her husband are not. The experts explained that the couple is prohibited under US federal criminal and civil law to perform any kind of action that may affect their financial affairs and assets. Both Kushner and his wife assumed formal White House positions in last week, which obligates them to abide by the conflict of interest laws. Trump took office as the 45th US President, after he was sworn in on January 20, 2017 at the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.
