Egypt's Foreign Minister held met with Egyptian Military Attaché to the US. The minister Sameh Shoukry met also chairman of the American House Armed Services Committee, Mac Thornberry. The meeting focused on reviewing the path of the U.S. military assistance program to Egypt and discussing the ongoing economic, social and political developments in Egypt. The Spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, Counselor Ahmed Abu Zeid, stated that Minister Shoukry affirmed that the military assistance program to Egypt, three decades since its inception, requires further appraisal as Egypt's need for such assistance is growing by the day particularly in view of the efforts exerted in the field of counter-terrorism, providing protection for its citizens and enhancing peace and stability in the Middle East region.
