Egypt's security forces killed three militants and wounded four others in North and Central Sinai, Youm7 News reported Sunday. Security sources said that the forces clashed with a number of militants, who were attempting to attack a security checkpoint, killing three militants and wounding another four. The sources added that three conscripts were wounded due to explosions caused by five improvised explosive devices (IED), pointing out that the wounded elements were transferred to Arish Hospital for treatment. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army and police have been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against terrorist groups in Sinai after they had claimed responsibility for several attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
