Armed forces revealed Friday in a statement that border guards succeeded in thwarting an illegal immigration attempt by 445 people, Veto News reported. The statement explained that border guards at the Lake of Burullus in Kafr El Sheikh governorate, have thwarted an illegal immigration by 124 people from different nationalities, including 52 Egyptians, 27 Ethiopians, 21 Somalis, 12 Yemenis, 10 Sudanese, 4 Eritreans, 1 Comorian, 1 Liberian and 1 Gambian. Meanwhile, border guards in the city of Rosetta, Beheira governorate have thwarted an illegal immigration by 267 people of different nationalities, including 24 Egyptians, 64 Sudanese, 71 Comorians, 50 Somalis, 37 Ethiopians and 21 Eritreans, according to the statement. Also, border guards in Alexandria have thwarted another illegal immigration by 54 individuals, including 36 Egyptians and 13 Ethiopians, in addition to 5 other unidentified nationals, the statement added.
