Mersa Matruh security directorate announced Sunday that security forces successfully thwarted an attempt by 12 Egyptian to illegally crossover to Libya, through Sallum crossing Al Bawaba News reported. All 12 Egyptians who attempted to illegally crossover to Libya are from various governorates, including three from Beheira and another three from Sohag, two from Beni Suef, and one each from Alexandria, Kafr El Sheikh, Giza, and Dakahlia governorates. The necessary legal procedures and measures have been taken by relevant authorities against all 12 Egyptians, as the suspects are expected to be referred to the prosecution office in the next few days.
